Six countries have confirmed their places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup through the intercontinental and European playoff rounds, while one final slot remains undecided.
DR Congo, Turkey, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Czechia sealed qualification on Tuesday after a series of decisive playoff matches.
DR Congo booked their place with a narrow 1-0 victory over Jamaica. The winning goal came in extra time through Axel Tuanzebe.
Turkey also secured qualification after defeating Kosovo 1-0. The result ends a 24-year absence from the World Cup for the Turkish side.
Sweden earned their ticket following a 3-2 win against Poland. Bosnia and Herzegovina advanced after overcoming Italy in a penalty shoot-out. The match had ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Czechia also progressed after beating Denmark on penalties. Their encounter had finished 2-2 before the shoot-out.
Italy and Poland failed to qualify after losing in their respective playoff matches.
The last available spot will be decided on Wednesday when Iraq takes on Bolivia in the final playoff fixture.
