The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, for allegedly killing two people and injuring three others in a knife attack at Olámbe, Ogun State. The incident, described by police as a violent outburst linked to a failed business deal, occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, detectives from the Ajuwon Division apprehended Musa after he fled the scene. The suspect reportedly attacked five individuals with a knife when they attempted to calm him during a dispute.

The police identified the deceased victims as 25-year-old Gbadamasi Ibrahim and 40-year-old Chinedu. Both men died while being rushed to the hospital, where doctors later confirmed their deaths. Three others—Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25—sustained serious injuries. They remain in critical condition but are responding to treatment, according to the police.

“The suspect attacked the victims with a knife after failing in some business deals. The victims were trying to calm him down when the attack happened,” the statement explained.
Following the assault, Musa attempted to escape but was tracked down and arrested by detectives. He is now in custody, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.

Reacting to the incident, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and assured residents that justice would be served. He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious or violent behavior to security agencies.
