Bayern Munich advanced to the Champions League semi-finals after a dramatic 4–3 victory over Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena, securing a 6–4 aggregate win. Late goals from Luis Diaz and Michael Olise sealed the result, sending the German side into a clash with reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The second leg began at a frantic pace. Bayern held a 2–1 advantage from the first leg in Madrid, but Real struck within 34 seconds when Arda Guler intercepted a misplaced pass from Manuel Neuer and lofted the ball into the net. Bayern responded quickly as Aleksandar Pavlovic headed home from a Joshua Kimmich corner, but Guler restored Madrid’s lead with a superb free-kick.

Harry Kane equalized again with a precise finish in the 38th minute, only for Kylian Mbappe to slot home from a Vinicius Junior pass to make it 3–2 to Madrid before halftime. The scoreline left the tie level at 4–4 on aggregate, setting up a tense second half.

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany introduced Alphonso Davies after the break to counter Madrid’s pace. Both sides created chances, with Olise forcing a fingertip save from Andriy Lunin. The match turned late on when Eduardo Camavinga, brought on midway through the half, received two yellow cards in quick succession, leaving Madrid with ten men.

Bayern capitalized almost immediately. Diaz struck from outside the box, his shot deflecting off Eder Militao to beat Lunin. With Real pressing for an equalizer, Bayern broke forward in stoppage time and Olise curled in a stunning effort to confirm their progress.

Tempers flared after the final whistle, with Guler shown a straight red card for confronting the referee. Despite the chaotic ending, Bayern celebrated their first knockout victory over Real since 2012.

Joshua Kimmich admitted the team struggled early but praised their resilience. “The first half was hectic. The second half was calmer, we had more control, and then managed to win it in the end. It wasn’t our best performance, but we’ll take the win,” he told DAZN. He added that facing PSG would be a major test: “The two best teams in Europe will face each other. We’ve had many top-level games against Paris in recent years. I’m looking forward to it.”

Real Madrid’s lineup was notable for not including a single Spanish player, a first in their Champions League history. Jude Bellingham, who impressed off the bench in the first leg, was among four changes made by coach Alvaro Arbeloa. Neuer, praised for his performance in Madrid, endured a difficult night, gifting Guler his opener and failing to keep out the free-kick.

The victory keeps Bayern’s hopes alive of winning their seventh European Cup. For Real, the defeat ends their quest for a 16th title and highlights the challenges of a squad in transition. Bayern’s late surge, powered by Diaz and Olise, demonstrated their depth and determination in one of the most thrilling quarter-finals in recent memory.
