Troops of the 403 Amphibious Brigade, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have recovered arms and ammunition during a clearance operation in Borno State.
Security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on X, stating that the operation took place around 12:00 p.m. on April 29 along the Baga–Cross Kauwa road in Kukawa Local Government Area.
The operation involved troops, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel, and civilian volunteers, and was aimed at securing a key supply route and preventing insurgent activities in the area.
Items recovered during the operation include one AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
Makama noted that no contact was made with suspected terrorists during the exercise, and the operation was completed successfully without any incident.
He added that troops will continue clearance and surveillance operations to maintain security and ensure safe movement along major routes in the region.
