The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers during a security operation carried out in Rukubi Community, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

According to the police, the operation was part of ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping and violent crimes across the country.

In a statement issued by Anthony Okon Placid, the incident began after security agencies received a distress report in the early hours of May 7, 2026, about an attack allegedly carried out by armed hoodlums on the night of May 6.

The attackers were said to have invaded the community, shooting sporadically and creating panic among residents before abducting two people from their homes to an unknown location.

Following the report, operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command, alongside other security agencies and local youths, reportedly moved quickly to the area and launched a coordinated operation which led to the arrest of eight suspects linked to the attack.
