Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber identified as Idowu Babayemi in the Abusoro area of Akure South Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect was reportedly arrested during a routine patrol carried out by police officers around the Onimalu axis of Akure.
According to the spokesperson of the command, Abayomi Jimoh, the suspect attracted the attention of the operatives, leading to a search during which a locally made pistol was recovered from him.
Jimoh explained that the arrest was made possible through credible intelligence gathered by the command after weeks of surveillance on the suspect’s activities. He added that investigations are still ongoing and the suspect will be charged to court afterward.

He also revealed that the Commissioner of Police praised the officers involved in the operation for their vigilance, professionalism, and commitment to duty.
