Nigerian Afrobeats stars Wizkid, Asake, Burna Boy, and Tems have all been nominated for the 2026 BET Awards.
The award ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on June 28, 2026. It will be hosted by comedian Druski and will be broadcast live on BET.
Nominations for the annual awards were announced on Tuesday, with several Nigerian artists receiving recognition across different music categories.
Wizkid and Asake earned a joint nomination in the Best Group category following their collaboration and a series of successful chart-topping releases.
Tems received three nominations. She was recognized in categories including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the BET Her Award for her song “First,” and the Viewers’ Choice Award for “Raindance,” her collaboration with Dave.
Burna Boy was nominated in the Best Collaboration category for his feature on Gunna’s hit single “WGFT.”
BET Awards is regarded as one of the most prestigious international award platforms celebrating Black culture and excellence in entertainment.
