Afrobeats singer Davido has said that his university education played a major role in shaping his life and music career.
He made this known during a recent visit to his alma mater, Babcock University in Osun State.
Davido explained that being a graduate in the music industry, where many people do not complete formal education, gives him a strong sense of pride.
He said, “Babcock University shaped my career. I always brag to colleagues that I went to school and graduated. Not everyone who started school got to finish.”
Davido graduated from the music department of Babcock University. He also revealed that his father insisted he must attend university before being allowed to pursue music.
The singer added that he met his wife, Chioma Adeleke, at the university and also released several of his hit songs while still studying.
