Yobe-born philanthropist, Kashim Musa Tumsah, has honoured three students from the state for their remarkable performance at the 2025 TeenEagle Global English Championship held in London, United Kingdom.
Tumsah announced a cash prize of ₦500,000 and a brand-new laptop for each of the students to support and encourage their academic journey.
The celebrated students — 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema and Hadiza Kashim Kalli — represented Nigeria in the international competition and ranked among the top performers in various categories, triumphing over more than 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
Speaking at the award presentation, Tumsah praised the students for their hard work, talent, and resilience, describing their success as a source of pride for Yobe State and Nigeria at large.
“These young ladies have shown that with dedication, excellence knows no boundaries. We must invest in our youths and give them the tools to excel,”* he said.
The TeenEagle Global English Championship is an annual contest that tests young learners on reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, attracting participants from across the globe.
Education stakeholders in Yobe have lauded Tumsah’s gesture, noting that such recognition will inspire more students to aim for excellence in academics and global competitions.
