Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I Jibrin, has rewarded players of Barau FC with 35 brand-new motorcycles and ₦17.5 million for securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
At a reception in Kano on Monday, each of the 35 players received a motorcycle and ₦500,000. The event also marked the unveiling of the club’s new Technical Adviser, Ladan Bosso.
Senator Barau praised the team’s rapid rise from academy level to the topflight league, urging them to aim for the NPFL title and continental competition next season. He revealed that 25 new players and Bosso had been recruited to strengthen the squad, including some international signings.
“If you bring the Premier League title, I will reward you with four wheels,” he promised.
Club President Shawwal Barau Jibrin and Chairman Ibrahim Shitu Chanji hailed the Senator’s commitment to youth development, while his Special Adviser on Youths and Sports, Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, described the gesture as a historic boost for Nigerian football.
