LThe New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has announced that its forthcoming National Executive Council (NEC) meeting will produce far-reaching decisions as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement on Tuesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, said the meeting, scheduled for August 28, will focus on key political activities, including the conduct of party congresses, the national convention, review of the recent bye-elections, and strategies for mass mobilisation of new members.
Johnson added that the NEC will also deliberate on the ongoing constitutional review and articulate the party’s clear stance on issues affecting Nigeria’s democracy.
“This NEC meeting will be pivotal for the NNPP as we reposition the party ahead of the 2027 elections. We intend to take decisions that will strengthen our internal structures, expand our membership base, and ensure the party remains a formidable force in Nigeria’s political space,” the statement read.
The NNPP, which has positioned itself as a third force in Nigeria’s politics, is expected to use the meeting to outline its electoral strategy and strengthen its grassroots support.
