The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that more governors across Nigeria will join the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yilwatda made the statement on Tuesday during the Bayelsa State chapter’s 12th expanded stakeholders’ meeting in Yenagoa, where party leaders also endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election.

According to him, President Tinubu’s performance since assuming office has continued to attract defections from opposition parties, with several governors and senators already pitching their tents with the APC.

“Because President Tinubu has done well, more governors and lawmakers are leaving their parties to join the APC. This shows the confidence Nigerians have in the president’s leadership, and we are certain of an overwhelming victory in 2027,” Yilwatda said.

He commended the Bayelsa APC leadership for their unity and commitment, urging stakeholders to sustain grassroots mobilization in support of the president and the party’s candidates across the country.

The event was attended by party leaders, lawmakers, and supporters, who pledged their loyalty to the APC and vowed to work toward strengthening the party’s base in Bayelsa and the South-South region.
