Sergio Busquets to Retire from Professional Football After MLS Season

Spanish midfield legend Sergio Busquets has announced he will retire from professional football at the end of the ongoing Major League Soccer (MLS) season.

The 36-year-old World Cup winner, who currently plays for **Inter Miami**, will hang up his boots in October, bringing an end to a glittering career that has spanned more than 15 years at the top level.

Busquets rose to prominence at FC Barcelona where he spent the majority of his career, winning multiple La Liga titles, UEFA Champions League trophies, and domestic cups.

He was also a key member of the Spain national team, helping La Roja lift the 2010 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2012.

After leaving Barcelona in 2023, Busquets joined former teammates Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami, where he played a pivotal role in raising the profile of MLS.
