Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi, has opened up about her past relationship, revealing that she broke up with her boyfriend, Hakeem, just weeks before auditioning for the reality show.
Speaking during a post-show interview with host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Imisi described the breakup as “hectic” but chose not to disclose the details behind their separation.
The 23-year-old reality star admitted that she entered the Big Brother house still heartbroken and struggling to move on from the relationship.
According to her, Hakeem had a strong influence on her appearance and personal style.
“The Imisi you saw on social media was not really me. My dressing and style were influenced by my ex, Hakeem, because that’s what he liked. He liked when I wore makeup and frontals, so I did that to please him because he was my safe place. He liked girls who looked girly, and he was the only person I had at the time,” she explained.
She added that the breakup happened on April 4, a month before the BBNaija auditions in May, and that she had little time to process her emotions before entering the show.
“It was really a hectic breakup, and I didn’t have the time to heal before the show,” she said.
