Reality TV star Tuoyo Ideh has spoken out against actress Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, for letting her daughter marry at a young age. He believes many parents today are failing to properly guide and protect their children.
In an Instagram Stories post, Tuoyo expressed concern about modern parenting. He questioned how some parents allow their children to make major life decisions without enough supervision or involvement.
Using Regina Daniels’ teenage marriage as an example, Tuoyo described it as a failure of parental responsibility. He said parents in earlier generations were more involved in their children’s lives, always knowing where they were and what they were doing.
Compared to today, Tuoyo feels many parents have become careless and less attentive to their children’s wellbeing.
He specifically said that Regina’s mother should not have allowed her to marry at 17 or 18 years old, calling it irresponsible to let a young person who “doesn’t know anything” make such a life-changing decision.
Tuoyo urged parents to do better in raising and protecting their children, warning that neglect in parenting has led many young people down the wrong path.
His comments come amid ongoing public discussions about Regina Daniels’ marriage, especially following reports of domestic problems and alleged abuse involving her husband, senator Ned Nwoko.
Tuoyo added:
“Nowadays parents mess us up a lot. How will your child travel to another country for like 3 weeks and you don’t know at all? What is your job? Back those days, our parents knew where we were and when we were coming back home. Imagine how Regina’s mum let her go with a man at 17 or 18 years—a child who doesn’t know anything. Parents need to do better.”
