Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has revealed that he doesn’t mind being in an open marriage.
Speaking on the In My Opinion podcast, the rapper explained that most married couples experience a decline in intimacy over time because they don’t explore sexual experiences with other people.
According to him, it’s acceptable for a spouse to be intimate with someone else when their partner is unavailable, as long as emotional loyalty remains intact.
He said, “I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples don’t keep having the same amount of sex they had at the beginning — it reduces. If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling or touring, that is okay. There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind her sleeping with someone else, provided she’s still dedicated to me.”
Blaqbonez further added that emotional connection and shared experiences are more important than physical exclusivity. He emphasized that no outsider could easily replace the bond he would build with his partner.
“If I’m even going to get married, I need two rooms,” he added. “Me and my wife will only meet when we want to have intimacy.”
The rapper’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with fans debating his unconventional views on love and marriage.
