Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has shared the story behind his distinctive stage name, revealing that it came from a playful childhood incident.

Speaking in a recent interview with BET Network, the rapper explained that “Odumodu,” which means masquerade, was originally a nickname used to tease him.

“Odumodu means masquerade. I tried to scare someone, and he called me that name. I didn’t like it at first — it was one of those names you don’t want people to call you,” he said.

However, the name quickly caught on among his schoolmates, especially after an incident involving his mother.

“One day my mom came to visit me in school, and everyone started saying, ‘Yo, Odumodu’s mom is here.’ She was confused, asking, ‘Who’s that?’ and I just accepted it. From then, it stuck — and soon after, I started making music,” he recounted.

Before adopting the name Odumodublvck, he used the stage name “T Flows,” which he later described as unoriginal.

“The first name I had was T Flows — a whack name. There are probably hundreds of thousands of T Flows out there, but only one Odumodublvck,” he said confidently.

He added that even though his friends laughed at the name at first, he chose to keep it because of its uniqueness.

“When I told my friends my name would be Odumodu Blvck, they laughed. I said, ‘Yes, that’s the point.’ If I hadn’t kept that name, there would never have been another Odumodublvck,” he concluded.
