Diddy Officially Moved to New Jersey Prison

American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially begun serving his federal prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security correctional facility in New Jersey.

The 55-year-old was transferred early Thursday morning and began the check-in process shortly after arrival. This follows Judge Arun Subramanian’s sentencing of Diddy to 50 months in prison, with the Federal Bureau of Prisons approving his request to serve time at Fort Dix.

Diddy’s legal team explained that the facility was selected to help him address drug abuse issues, allow family visitation, and support his rehabilitation during incarceration.

Before his transfer, the rapper had been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn since his 2024 arrest. The MDC, known for its overcrowding and violence, was described as having far harsher conditions than Fort Dix.

Despite the lower security level of his new facility, Diddy’s attorney Mark Geragos expressed concern for his client’s safety, warning that the star could still face threats behind bars. He cited past incidents, including an alleged knife attack while in custody.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, Diddy’s projected release date is May 8, 2028, though this could change depending on his conduct and participation in rehabilitation programs.
