The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his political stance, declaring his intention to lead President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Rivers State.

Wike made the announcement despite his continued membership in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a move that further deepens speculation about his political realignment.

“I will lead the campaign for President Tinubu in Rivers. I stand by what I believe in,” Wike said.

The statement is expected to stir fresh debate within the PDP, where Wike remains a prominent figure. His declaration signals growing tensions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
