Nigerian music video director ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori, says he has been receiving death threats after expressing his views on same-sex relationships.
Over the weekend, Omori stirred controversy online when he described homosexuality as “evil” in a post on X. His comment quickly went viral and sparked reactions across social media.
He has now alleged that his life is being threatened after an online magazine claimed he made the controversial statement to promote his eyewear brand.
According to Omori, the publication attempted to incite a global community against him, putting his safety at risk.
In his words, shared on X:
“This is a media house trying to set me up and risk my life by gaslighting a global community they serve to blacklist me for speaking my truth in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Death threats and wishes have been sent to me day and night, threatening my safety and security as a citizen, since after this article was published by @Zikoko_Mag.”
