Nigerian musician and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has called for a public hearing to address claims that the Federal Government has failed to properly equip the Armed Forces despite the large annual budget for military hardware.

Falz made the appeal on Monday while responding to the growing insecurity across the country. He described the situation as a national security emergency and urged citizens to pressure their representatives with coordinated emails, phone calls, and WhatsApp messages.

In a trending video, he questioned why, despite billions reportedly released for weapons and equipment, military personnel remain under-equipped and vulnerable. He cited frequent ambushes on military convoys and the recent killing of an army general captured on video as examples of the worsening security crisis.

Falz called on Nigerians to demand an emergency public hearing that would be broadcast live, allowing people both within and outside the country to follow the proceedings. According to him, the hearing should focus on strategies to defeat terrorism, investigate claims of inadequate military equipment, and address how citizens can be better protected.
