Bella Shmurda has revealed that his hit track Cash App was intentionally made for internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys.
Speaking in an interview with Clout Africa, the singer said he created the song to motivate and uplift those involved in online fraud, noting that the illegal activity is often stressful and demanding.
When asked if he was personally involved in Yahoo activities, Shmurda clarified that his inspiration came from understanding the lifestyle, not from participating in it.
He said, “It is Yahoo in the sense that they have to dance. These people that are hustling, you have to make them happy because internet fraud is stressful. It has a lot of challenges.”
Shmurda added that the song came naturally to him. “The truth is, when it comes to inspiration, you don’t have any story behind it. It is natural, it just comes. It is God-given. So, Cash App is divine.”
Released in 2020 and featuring Zlatan and Lincoln, Cash App quickly became a massive hit across Nigeria and several African countries.
