Davido Claps Back at APC Chieftain Over Anti-Adeleke Comments

Nigerian music star Davido has fired back at Hon. Timothy Owoeye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), after the latter publicly stated that the party’s ticket is “not for sale” to the Adeleke family.

This came shortly after Davido, his billionaire father Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, and his uncle Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu earlier in the week — a move that sparked political speculation.

In response, Owoeye, the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, held a press conference in Osogbo on Wednesday, June 4, where he strongly criticized the Adelekes. He stated:

“The APC ticket is not for sale to the Adeleke family. Governor Ademola Adeleke is not part of the APC, and there’s no room for him or the PDP in our party.”

He went on to claim that the Adeleke family’s interest in the APC stems from a “fear of the unknown,” adding that the PDP’s reign in Osun would end by August 8, 2026.

Reacting to the remarks, Davido took to social media and mocked Owoeye, posting:

“No be this guy naked for bush?”

The jab, laced with sarcasm, immediately gained attention online. Davido’s cousin, B-Red, also joined in the ridicule by replying with laughing emojis.

The political tension adds a new layer to Osun’s heated landscape, especially as rumors swirl about shifting alliances ahead of the next election cycle.
