Wizkid’s deeply personal album Morayo—named after his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, with “Morayo” meaning “I see joy” in Yoruba—has risen to No. 6 on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums chart.
The 16-track project weaves Afrobeats, R&B, and emotional reflections on loss, healing, and gratitude. It features standout collaborations with Brent Faiyaz, Asake, and Burna Boy, contributing to its enduring appeal.
Upon release, Morayo debuted at No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria, with all 16 tracks occupying 17 of the top positions on the Top Songs chart—an unprecedented milestone. Even four weeks later, 15 tracks stayed within the Top 100, and the album reclaimed the No. 1 spot on Christmas Day 2024.
Throughout 2025, the album has enjoyed several resurgences, re-entering the Top 10 at No. 8 in November before climbing to No. 6 ahead of its one-year anniversary.
Apple Music’s 2025 year-end charts named Morayo the Top Album of the Year, while Wizkid secured the Top Artist title, with his single “Kese” also earning significant recognition.
