YouTube has unveiled its 2025 Nigeria Year-in-Review, ranking the music videos and creators that drew the most attention from Nigerian viewers throughout the year.
The big surprise came in the music category, where gospel singer Akinade “Gaise Baba” Ibuoye dominated the chart, outperforming Afrobeats heavyweights like Wizkid, Davido, Asake, and Rema. His hit “No Turning Back II,” featuring Lawrence Oyor, emerged as the most-watched Nigerian music video of 2025. Released in mid-May, the video went viral nationwide, pulling in more than forty-one million views within six months and generating huge fan engagement.
In the creator category, Nollywood star Omoni Oboli led the list, with her platform, Omoni Oboli TV, finishing as Nigeria’s top YouTube channel for the year.
The list was announced in a statement by YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Addy Awofisayo.
