Nigerian musician Ruger has stirred controversy with his recent comments about women who undergo Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery.
In a post on X, Ruger claimed that women with BBL often display bad character. He suggested that the cosmetic procedure seems to “come with attitude,” writing in pidgin:
“When I see girl with BBL, I dey straight up think say dem get bad character. Be like the procedure dey come with small attitude and ogba.”
His remarks immediately triggered debate across social media, with many users criticising the stereotype and questioning why women’s bodies continually face public judgment.
The conversation has since expanded, with some defending Ruger’s opinion as personal preference, while others insist it reinforces harmful narratives about women who choose body-enhancement procedures.
