Nigerian singer Bigiano has claimed that he was responsible for writing part of Davido’s breakthrough hit song, Dami Duro.
The Shayo crooner made the revelation during a recent interview with content creator Akin Abolade, where he stated that he wrote the hook of the song.
“I wrote Dami Duro for Davido. I wrote the hook,” Bigiano said.
Explaining his long absence from the music scene, Bigiano said he deliberately took a break to prepare for a stronger comeback.
“Sometimes, you have to take a break to be able to come back again. I went on a sabbatical to make my return to music massive,” he explained.
He also dismissed any suggestion that he is facing financial difficulties, insisting that he is financially stable.
“I can’t be broke,” he added.
Dami Duro, released in 2011, played a major role in launching Davido into stardom and remains one of his most iconic songs. The track has been listed among the greatest Afrobeats songs of all time by several local and international platforms.
Despite Bigiano’s claim, he is not officially credited as a co-writer of the song, and Davido is yet to publicly respond to the allegation.
