Afrobeats singer Oxlade has shared a strong message on mental health, urging people battling emotional and psychological challenges to seek help and speak up rather than suffer in silence.

In a post shared on his 𝕏 account, the singer stressed that survival is only possible if a person stays alive to tell their story. He encouraged open conversations around mental health and warned against bottling up emotions for too long.

Oxlade addressed the stigma surrounding mental health issues, reminding people that taking one’s life would deeply hurt loved ones left behind. He described suicide as a selfish act that deprives family and friends of someone they care about.

According to him, no matter how overwhelming a situation feels, difficult moments are temporary and will eventually pass. He reassured fans that support is available and that reaching out to someone could make a difference.

“Things can be overwhelmingly tough. Some of you have been bottling it in for so long. Survival can only happen if you’re alive to tell the tale. Please talk to someone so you can reflect if this is worth dying for,” he wrote.

He added, “Don’t take your life, please. That would be so selfish. Don’t hurt the ones you love by depriving them of your existence. I’m here to let you know this too shall pass.”

Oxlade also revealed that he recently received disturbing news that deeply affected him, appealing especially to his close circle not to give up. He said he no longer has the strength to cope with losing people he cares about, reinforcing his call for people to stay alive and seek help when struggling.
