President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on his 63rd birthday, commending his integrity, humility and commitment to public service.
In a statement issued on January 4, 2026 by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said Governor Yusuf’s administration reflects Kano’s progressive tradition and the legacy of the late Mallam Aminu Kano, particularly in addressing the needs of the talakawa.
President Tinubu noted that Yusuf’s experience as former Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport between 2011 and 2015 prepared him for his current role, citing ongoing urban renewal projects, bridge construction and road networks, including five kilometres of roads in each local government area.
He also praised the governor’s declaration of a state of emergency in education, which has led to improved performance by Kano students in NECO examinations.
The President wished Governor Yusuf long life and more years of impactful leadership in Kano State.
