Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has sparked reactions online after sharing her advice on how to deal with in-laws who may not immediately accept you.

In a recent interview with TVC host Morayo Afolabi Brown, the actress encouraged married couples to make sincere efforts to build a good relationship with their in-laws. She explained that patience, understanding, and consistent effort can sometimes help reduce tension and create peace within the family.

Omotola also noted that marriage is already challenging on its own, and a lack of support from family members can make things even more difficult. According to her, starting a marriage without love and encouragement from both sides of the family can add unnecessary stress to the relationship.

In her words;

“I will advise that if the families of the spouse don’t like you, try everything you possibly can to make them understand you. But there are some parents that are hell-bent on not liking you regardless of what you do, they already have a prejudice. Marriage is already hard, and starting without love and support only makes the journey tougher…”
