Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tacha Akide has shared photos of her Guinness World Record plaques after achieving a major milestone in the beauty industry.
Tacha revealed that she successfully completed 82 makeovers in 8 hours and 143 makeovers in 24 hours, beating the previous record of 64 makeovers in 8 hours. Her achievement has earned her recognition as the fastest makeup artist in the world.
The reality star and entrepreneur dedicated the achievement to her late mother, Stella, who passed away 12 years ago and played a major role in teaching her makeup skills.
Sharing the news on Instagram, she wrote:
“Records are broken. Some records are made. And some are made with purpose in suits like this from @prudent_gabriel.
82 makeovers in 8 hours. 143 makeovers in 24 hours. This wasn’t just about speed… it was about impact, dedication, and a decade of showing up for my craft. 10 years of building. 10 years of believing. 10 years of becoming.
And today, the plaques say it all. Thank you to the SA @connectwithlagos for your unending support. The fastest makeup artist in the world.”
Tacha also remembered her late mother while celebrating the achievement.
She wrote:
“Thinking of you, mummy. I lost my mum, Stella, 12 years ago. My mom taught me everything I know today. Deep down, I wouldn’t be anything like who I am today if it weren’t for her. Every step, every win, every milestone… I wish I could run to you and say: ‘Mummy, see… see what I did.’”
Continuing, she added:
“Makeup… my first love. The love that grew into passion. The passion that has now birthed two Guinness World Records. The hardest part of moments like this is knowing I can’t see you, I can’t hug you, I can’t call you and say: ‘Mummy, your daughter is breaking boundaries.’
Mummy, I miss you so much. I wish you were here to see this. But I know you’re watching me. Your daughter did it. Grateful. Focused. Just getting started.”
