Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has been sued for allegedly conducting a deliverance session on a schoolgirl within school premises.

The actress was slammed with a N200 million lawsuit at the High Court in Abuja by human rights lawyer Ikechukwu Obasi.

Obasi, who filed the suit on behalf of the Rivers State-born Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) student, claimed that the teenage girl was subjected to what he described as a harmful religious ritual, which was later shared online.

According to him, the circulation of the video without the girl’s consent violated her privacy rights “under Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Child Rights Act 2003.”

The lawyer is demanding N200 million in damages, a public apology, and the removal of the footage from all social media platforms.

He also urged the court to declare the act a violation of the girl’s constitutional right to dignity and personal privacy.

The controversy began after Tonto Dikeh shared a video showing her carrying out a spiritual deliverance on a schoolgirl during a visit to a secondary school in Durumi II, Abuja.
