Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed concern over injuries to two of his players after the club’s 1-0 victory against West Ham United on Sunday.
Leandro Trossard netted the decisive goal in the 82nd minute to hand the Gunners all three points and keep them five points ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League title race.
Despite the important win, Arsenal suffered setbacks during the match as defenders Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori were forced off with injuries.
White left the pitch in the first half after sustaining a knee problem. Martin Zubimendi replaced him. Calafiori also failed to return for the second half and Cristhian Mosquera came on in his place.
Speaking after the game, Arteta admitted White’s injury could be serious.
“We don’t know [the severity] but it doesn’t look good at all,” Arteta said during his post-match press conference.
“He needs some further testing tomorrow probably and I will know a bit more.”
