Tragedy struck late Saturday night in Yankamaye village, Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State, as armed bandits launched a deadly attack that left one woman dead and three residents abducted.

The assault reportedly occurred around 11:00 p.m., when most villagers had retired for the night. According to community sources, the attackers arrived on motorcycles but abandoned them on the outskirts of the village, proceeding on foot to evade detection.

Witnesses said the bandits shot and killed an elderly woman who had pleaded with them to spare her son from being taken. Despite her plea, the assailants abducted the young man along with two others.

Residents described the incident as terrifying, noting that the attackers moved quietly and strategically, catching the community completely off guard.

Local authorities are yet to issue an official statement, and it remains unclear whether security personnel have launched a pursuit or rescue operation.
