Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League, becoming the second club to drop to the Championship this season.

Their fate was sealed after a 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Wednesday night at Turf Moor. Erling Haaland scored the only goal of the match in the sixth minute, which proved decisive.

Despite failing to extend their lead, City secured all three points and moved above Arsenal on the league table.

The result confirms an immediate return to the Championship for Scott Parker’s side after just one season in the top flight.

Wolves had earlier become the first team to be relegated. Their demotion was confirmed following Crystal Palace’s goalless draw with West Ham on Monday night.
