A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has directed the arrest of a factional national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Turaki.
The order was issued by Justice U.P. Kekemeke after Turaki failed to appear in court over a case instituted against him by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
Justice Kekemeke ruled that there was no valid reason for Turaki’s absence in court.
The case stems from a one-count charge filed by the IGP, which accuses Turaki of supplying false information to the police in a petition submitted in October 2022.
The court’s decision follows his continued absence despite the pending charge.
