After more than four decades without power, the Eddah community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State has finally been connected to the national grid, thanks to the intervention of the North South Power Company Limited (NSPCL).
The project, which was inaugurated on Tuesday, was delivered by the NSPCL Foundation as part of its corporate social responsibility to host communities within its operations.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Olubunmi Peters, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NSPCL, said the company provided a 300KVA electrification sub-station to supply power to residents of Eddah.
“This project is part of our commitment to improving the quality of life in communities where we operate. We are delighted that after over 40 years, Eddah will now enjoy the benefits of electricity,” Peters stated.
Residents of the community expressed joy and gratitude, noting that access to electricity would transform local businesses, education, and healthcare services.
