Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has arrived the Kaduna State High Court for the hearing of his bail application in a 9-count charge filed against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Crime Commission (ICPC).

The charges bordered around alleged corruption, fraud, and abuse of office.

The matter which is before Justice Darius Khobo was amended yesterday and left El-Rufai as the sole defendant.

Ubong Akpan (SAN), the lead counsel for El-Rufai, confirmed the amendment to journalists after yesterday’s court sitting.

According to him the amendment was new to his team and they need to prepare for the defense.

“The charges are entirely new to us. They were given to us this morning while we were already in court. That is why the matter could not proceed.

“We will analyse the charges and make our position known. For now, there is nothing we can do until we have fully reviewed them,” he said.
