Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate reconstruction of three federal roads in Niger State, alongside the extension of the Bodo–Bonny Road in Rivers State.

The approval was granted during a meeting between the president and the Minister of Works, David Umahi.

The road projects in Niger State include the Mokwa–Bida Road, which spans 120 kilometres, the Mokwa–Makeri Road measuring 63 kilometres, and the Bida–Labata Road, which covers 123.5 kilometres. Authorities said the reconstruction will use reinforced concrete pavement to improve durability and ensure long-term value.

In Rivers State, the Bodo–Bonny Road will be extended to link with the East–West Road. The project will be executed as a dual carriageway. It will also feature concrete pavement and solar-powered streetlights to enhance visibility and safety.

The development is part of ongoing efforts by the federal government to strengthen road infrastructure and improve connectivity across key regions of the country.
