Governor Abdullahi Sule has presented Senator Aliyu Wadada to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his preferred successor and consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State.
The presentation took place on Friday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Governor Sule had earlier announced Wadada as his preferred successor during a meeting with political appointees at the Nasarawa State Government House.
He explained that the process of choosing a successor had been ongoing for over a year and involved wide consultations beyond the state.
According to him, the consultations included discussions with foreign and potential investors, youth groups, women organisations, traditional rulers, party officials, and stakeholders across the three senatorial zones of Nasarawa State, as well as selected members of his cabinet.
The move signals growing political alignment within the APC ahead of future elections in the state.
