President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to religious freedom and tolerance, describing himself as a strong advocate for liberty of faith.
Speaking in Jos, Plateau State, the President shared personal insights into his interfaith family, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and coexistence among Nigerians of different religious backgrounds.
“I was born into a Muslim family — my parents chose my faith,” Tinubu said. “I am married to a Christian pastor, and I have always respected her right to her beliefs without ever trying to convert her.”
He explained that his children are also free to choose their faiths. “Some of my children join me at the mosque, while others follow their mother’s Christian faith,” he added. “We all pray to and are accountable to the same omnipotent God.”
President Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace unity through tolerance, stressing that the strength of the nation lies in its diversity.
