Nigerian singer Ceeza Milli has revealed that he once went to jail and later battled depression as a result of the experience.

Speaking in a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, the singer said his time in a Nigerian prison took a serious toll on him psychologically. Although he did not explain what led to his imprisonment, he made it clear that the period was extremely difficult for him.

“I went through a depressive stage, I went to jail. I suffered in Nigerian prison,” he said.

Ceeza Milli added that he is still trying to fully recover, especially in terms of his health. He explained that his decision to lose weight is for health reasons and not because of online trolls or negative comments.

He also stressed that he is not bothered by critics on the internet.

Ceeza Milli noted that Wizkid could not do more for him at the time because he was already signed to a record label.
