Nigerian comedian and actor Ijoba Lande has accused officers attached to the Area “J” Division of the Lagos State Police Command of assaulting him and stealing his property.
According to him, the incident happened just six days after he returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.
A video currently circulating on social media shows the entertainer with visible injuries on his face, including blood stains around his eyes. In the footage, people around him were seen pouring water on his face in an attempt to help him. Parts of the video also show what appears to be a police facility, where he seemed to be reporting the alleged attack.
Ijoba Lande claimed that the officers physically assaulted him, confiscated his iPhone 16 Pro Max, and took $1,200 in cash said to belong to his brother.
However, he did not give detailed information about the exact location of the incident or what led to the confrontation with the officers.
The skit maker, who is known for his comedy videos and appearances in Yoruba Nollywood films, said the experience has left him traumatised as he seeks justice over the alleged misconduct.
As of the time this report was filed, the Lagos State Police Command had not released any official statement regarding the allegations, and the full details of what happened remain unclear.
