Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have begun registering for direct petroleum product transactions with Dangote Refinery ahead of the facility’s planned commencement of supplies to retail outlets on August 15.

The Nation gathered yesterday that the move follows the refinery’s earlier announcement on June 15, 2025, that it would deploy 4,000 newly acquired Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers for nationwide distribution.

Under the new arrangement, Dangote Refinery will supply Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), diesel, and other products directly to marketers, petrol station owners, manufacturers, telecom operators, aviation companies, and other large-scale consumers—bypassing traditional depots and middlemen.

Industry analysts say the direct-to-market strategy could cut supply chain costs, reduce product scarcity, and potentially ease pump prices across the country.
