The Jigawa State Police Command has recorded major breakthroughs in the fight against violent crimes, with the arrest of a suspected wife-killer and a 20-year-old robbery suspect in separate operations across the state.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Lawan Adam, the operations were conducted under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Dahiru, psc, fdc, in line with the Inspector-General of Police’s directive to rid the country of violent crime.

MAN ARRESTED FOR KILLING EX-WIFE IN AUJARA

On Tuesday, July 23, 2025, operatives of Aujara Divisional Police Headquarters arrested Iliyasu Musa, a 40-year-old man from Dangewaye Village, who had been on the run for nearly two weeks after allegedly killing his ex-wife.

The tragic incident occurred on July 10, 2025, when Musa reportedly ambushed 30-year-old Hadiza Sale, mother of their six children, as she returned home from the market. Armed with a stick, he is said to have struck her fatally on the head.

After intense surveillance and tactical operations, the suspect was tracked down and arrested in Larabar-Tambarin-Gwani village, where he had been hiding.
