A Katsina businessman, Anas Ahmadu, his seven-month pregnant wife, Halimatu, and their two-year-old daughter have been released by their abductors.
The family, who were kidnapped recently, regained their freedom on Tuesday, though details of their release remain sketchy. It is not yet clear if any ransom was paid.
Community members expressed relief over their safe return and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to end recurring abductions in the state.
Katsina has in recent years witnessed a surge in kidnappings, with families, traders, and farmers frequently targeted by armed groups.
