Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has died in a tragic car accident in Spain, just two weeks after his wedding. He was 28 years old.
According to reports, the crash happened on the A-52 highway near the town of Zamora. Jota was traveling with his brother, Andre, who is also a footballer, when their car veered off the road and caught fire.
Jota joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 in a €44.7 million deal. Over his time with the Reds, he made 182 appearances, scoring 65 goals and providing 26 assists.
He helped Liverpool win three major trophies during his spell at the club: the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season, as well as the FA Cup and League Cup in 2021/22.
Fans and teammates have been left shocked and heartbroken by the news of his passing.
