Manchester United have reportedly taken a firm decision on the future of club captain Bruno Fernandes despite growing interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and across Europe.
The Premier League side is said to have ruled out any plan to sell the Portuguese midfielder this summer as the club moves to secure his long-term future at Old Trafford.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that discussions have already started between Manchester United and Fernandes over a possible extension of his stay at the club.
Although the midfielder’s contract contains a reported £57 million release clause, the Red Devils are determined to retain him beyond the current transfer window.
The initial round of talks between both parties reportedly took place recently, with the club making it clear that Fernandes remains a key part of its plans.
Manchester United are keen for the thirty-one-year-old to continue leading the squad after another impressive campaign.
Fernandes’ current deal with the English club runs until June 2027.
The Portugal international joined Manchester United from Sporting CP and has since become one of the team’s most influential players.
He recently won the Premier League Player of the Season award for the 2025/26 campaign.
