Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three individuals suspected of working with Boko Haram and ISWAP in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X on Sunday.
According to the post, operatives of the Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade carried out the arrest on April 13 in the Abari general area. They worked alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
The suspects were identified as Falmata Abukar, 43; Halima Audu, 35; and Mairo Abba, 17.
Security sources said the suspects were intercepted while moving from Abari to Mararaba village in Kukawa Local Government Area.
The sources added that the items found with them were suspected to be supplies meant for insurgents operating around the Lake Chad region.
“Items recovered from them include 12 pairs of suspected terrorist uniform materials, 176 bottles of herbicide, 22 wrappers, 24 assorted children’s clothes, a mosquito net, a mat, and N15,500 in cash,” Makama wrote.
Authorities believe the recovered items were intended as logistics support for armed groups in the area.
The suspects remain in military custody. Officials said they are currently undergoing preliminary investigation to establish their level of involvement and any possible links to terrorist networks operating in the region.
