Ahmed Musa delivered a dramatic late goal to secure a 2-1 victory for Kano Pillars against Rivers United in their Nigeria Premier Football League clash at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.

Kano Pillars went ahead in the 81st minute through Abdullahi Musa. Rivers United responded just before full time when Handsome Surveyor found the equaliser. Ahmed Musa then settled the contest with a decisive strike at the 90th minute.

The result pushed Kano Pillars further away from the relegation zone after a closely contested encounter.

In another fixture played in Ikenne, Remo Stars strengthened their chances of avoiding the drop with a convincing 3-0 win over Niger Tornadoes. Victor Mbaoma opened scoring in the 10th minute, which marked his 12th goal of the season. Olamilekan Adedayo and Samuel Anakwe added the other goals to complete the victory.

The outcome moved Remo Stars up to 16th position on the league table.

Meanwhile, Rangers climbed back to the top after defeating Enyimba 2-1 in Enugu. Enyimba took the lead early in the second half through Wonah Williams. Rangers responded in the 61st minute with an equaliser from Chidozie Iwundu. Ifeanyi Onyebuchi then scored the winner seven minutes later to hand the Flying Antelopes maximum points.
